Gary’s keynote speech discussed how 8 dynamic trends will return Asia Pacific to the forefront of global travel and tourism. These include applications of intelligent technology, pop culture, digital finance, consumer agility, adoption of sustainable mobility and demographic change.

Along the way, he touched on topics ranging from the Chinese outbound market to tourism investment in Indonesia, and a free flight ticket giveaway in Hong Kong to Asia’s great eVTOL race. He also addressed the Asian markets likely to lead metaverse innovation, travel distribution via TikTok and the connection between Night Tourism and South Korean megastars BTS.

2023 will be a defining year for the travel industry in Asia Pacific. The pandemic instilled a resolve for travellers to make up for lost time, but consumer perceptions are shifting.
